I like to be honest but who am I to say this; how dare I? I thought some of the technical image process work was very poor.
Whilst the concepts were good and the capture also, The putting together of elements left much to be desired.
eg 4 boys chasing ball. seems to be ball and figures mounted on a new background. All were running, no ground contact, but as thre was a strong light source at top right lighting the figures there was no hint of shadow anywhere. That could be a creatiave decision so try the next ones.

EG chinese in a boat, the argentine gaucho. They seem to also be pasted layers but in part look like they were cut out with scissors. From a distance they were wonderful but with the technology at our fingertips could not a little more time have been put into this.]]>

<![CDATA[POST PRODUCTION SOFTWARE]]> http://www.d-p-s.org.uk/aef/index.php?tid=4&tpg=1#p58 I don't like the elements interface and there are things that the Serif can do that Elements can't. Also I would only use the edit part of Elements anyway.

Again, budget is a factor and PhotoPlus is great value for money. That's why it's going into schools and colleges now. I just fitted out a classroom with 10 licences for £99.75.]]>

A question popped into my head after all the discussion about competitions. It's simply this - if no one else ever saw your pictures, would you still take them?

Yes I would as no one ever does see them.]]>

<![CDATA[Notices]]> http://www.d-p-s.org.uk/aef/index.php?tid=17&tpg=1#p51
I take your point about notices. Thursday night was embarrasing! However it was the first night back and so there was a lot of stuff to get through.

I like the email idea. The probem to my mind is that there would have to be someone who could receive notices, co-ordinate everything and then send out the emails.

The committee did consider the email route but felt that the blog would be a better option. Taking a hard line, one could say that if someone can't be botherd to look then that is their problem.

We are talking about another job for someone to admisiter notices by email and I am very aware of how hard the committee work as it is now.

I am not dissmissing the idea out of hand but I would remind you that there are wider issues.
