Hi,
Just starting to do my own prints. Wondering which is the best paper to use?

My feeling is that you have to find one that suits your image. Having spent a fortune on paper I have now decided that I will concentrate on three papers only. One glossy, one lustre and one matt. Have fun researching them though!

When I started printing, happysnapper, I found Olmec very good. I favour the heavyweight papers which don't need backing card when mounted. A lot of the more advanced guys seem to be using Permajet or Fotospeed. From time to time we have speakers sponsored by these who offer discounted packs.

To me it's a balance between what works, quality and my budget.  I use Ilford Galerie at the moment.
